The Complete Guide to Ocean CityReviewed by Paul Covington, 2010-01-16
This guide book is an invaluable resource for getting the most out of a visit to Ocean City. Coming from the west coast, I know next to nothing about the east coast and its environs. Therefore this book's suggestions for ways to expand your Ocean City experience are enlightening and imaginative; ideas like visiting nearby Assateague Island (to see the wild horses), its lists of family-friendly hikes, day trips to places like Chesapeake Bay Farms, and in general an insider's sense of what is, and what is not, worthy of a person's time. This book also gives tips on where to look for good surf. If you're looking to have some unique, authentic OC fun, there is also a very useful section on "crabbing" and how to prepare your catch afterwards. This book really takes all the guesswork out of visiting Ocean City, and will make your experience stress-free and more enjoyable.
Ocean City what a great book and placeReviewed by Deborah G. Pines, 2010-01-14
We just moved to Maryland and were looking for places to go. One of my co-workers sugguested this book. It was very well written and informative. The best part is that after reading the book we decided to visit. Ocean City was everything the book said it would be and more. Ocean City: A Guide to Maryland's Seaside Resort (Tourist Town Guides)
A must for a trip to Ocean CityReviewed by Lorraine Spencer, 2010-01-14
We bought this guide when it first was released, in preparation for our son's first beach week. Unlike most guides, where you just sort of scan the sections, I ended up reading the whole thing end to end. I've been going to OC for more than 40 years, and I still found it interesting and informative.
An absolute must-have for beach-goers and boardwalk strollersReviewed by H. Meyer, 2010-01-13
Anyone who is considering spending time in Ocean City should take this book along...after all, with the sights, sounds and smell of Thrasher's French Fries wafting through the ocean breeze, how can one decide where to eat or what to do (even when the sun might not be shining), often with precious little time to waste looking for the best bargains? Kim has put together a wonderful, easy-to-use guide for both veteran and novice visitors of Ocean City. From the best beach pizza to "fancy-schmancy" candlelight dinners, miniature golf and movies to chocolates and taffy, bungalows and condos to high end hotels, everything you need to get the most out of your recreational budget can be found in this well-researched guidebook on one of the best seaside vacation spots on the east coast. Don't leave home without it!
*THE* Guide to Ocean City, MarylandReviewed by M. Cooney, 2010-01-13
I wish all travel guides were written with as much clarity and useful information as Ms. Kash's. She makes no bones about sharing her opinion about sites and restaurants and so far, her reviews have been spot-on. She brings out a side of Ocean City that I would have otherwise not known. Ms. Kash's writing style also makes the book easy and even enjoyable to read. It's like having a friend along who knows the town and guides you to the best spots. I've been coming to Ocean City for several years and found this guide extremely useful and enlightening. It should be on the mandatory packing list for anyone visiting Maryland's Seashore.
